This last week, I taught a course on Field Research for Ministry for Doctor of Ministry students at Andrews University. I was impressed by the two dozen really bright, experienced pastors from across the U.S. and overseas, and I had a great time sharing with them some of the tools of social science that can be used to enhance their pastoral ministry.
This coming week, I am moving to the Dayton (Ohio) area to take up my duties as Director of Research & Special Projects for the Ohio Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. I will continue as adjunct faculty for AU and associate faculty at Eastern University. The leadership of the Ohio Conference has an exciting vision for advancing the cause of Christ in the metropolitan areas and communities of that great state, and I look forward to working with pastors and congregations there, as well as continuing my research on the contemporary church and its social context.
I should soon get back to posting daily. A lot of new information is coming to me that I will share with my readers.
